Here’s a quick overview of how to install blinds and other window treatments. There will be variations depending on your specific product, but nearly all categories of window coverings follow these same basic steps.

• Install mounting brackets
• Whether your window treatments are inside or outside mount, mounting brackets go up first. This will require a few screws, a level, and a measuring tape (to make sure your brackets are properly aligned), and maybe pre-drilling depending on your window casing.
• Install blinds or shades
• Next, your window covering is placed into the mounted brackets.
• Install Valance
• Many window treatments have valances which simply click into place.
